I seem to remember seeing Mason Proffit on the Smother's Brother's Comedy Hour... They also played "Hope" and "Last Night I had the Strangest Dream".

Have all their albums, GREAT early pioneers of County/Rock - ageless music!Waldo 1https://www.blogger.com/profile/15066690701123839938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7167972917262697078.post-10887497461186932602020-02-12T18:59:52.118-05:002020-02-12T18:59:52.118-05:00Yesterday I got my old tape deck running again aft...Yesterday I got my old tape deck running again after many years and played some of my old tapes from the early 70’s. One of the tapes had “Two Hangmen” on it. I had completely forgotten the song until it played on one of my tapes and I was reminded how much I loved that song from my past. I immediately copied the words and worked out the chords on my guitar. Now I can’t get it out of my head. I looked it up on the internet trying to determine the real meaning behind the lyrics but didn’t really find anything. Can anyone tell me the real meaning behind the lyrics? Thanks in advance for any clarification.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06895603101214689549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7167972917262697078.post-34253730088120202172019-08-10T02:04:59.205-04:002019-08-10T02:04:59.205-04:00And now people across the US sing John Michael Tal...And now people across the US sing John Michael Talbot songs weekly in mass.kkevilushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13481910558068240276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7167972917262697078.post-14783929766125199992019-05-01T07:16:27.664-04:002019-05-01T07:16:27.664-04:00Mason Proffit is one of my all time favorite bands...Mason Proffit is one of my all time favorite bands. Many of my friends and I were required to register for the draft at the height of the Vietnam War. Some of us believed that it was an unjust war. Mason Proffit with the songs “Two Hangmen, Eugene Pratt and Were You There” had a special meaning for us. I was fortunate to see them in concert on at least two occasions. They put on great performances. They were a Country Rock band ahead of their time.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08817463055292828898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7167972917262697078.post-3692440661945124632019-04-18T12:47:16.677-04:002019-04-18T12:47:16.677-04:00Great song I'd never heard of till someone at ...Great song I'd never heard of till someone at a gig asked for it; I looked it up & quickly learned it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8wGWYBVGn8 Bear Dyken did a great music video - check his version too!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01997756602889079403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7167972917262697078.post-26764429653993973492019-02-28T18:39:48.829-05:002019-02-28T18:39:48.829-05:00Just wanted you to know, Eren, that at least three...Just wanted you to know, Eren, that at least three people have read this page. I have both their origional albums and all the songs were great! If you have never heard them you should listen to them on youtube. Another group from back then that you probably have never heard of is Wilderness Road. It is relatable in so many different ways both for and to me. Even if you and I are the only people that ever read this page, I am glad to see Mason Profit written about, and gladder still to see the joy, or at least interest, of another in the band's work. Please continue your musings, I enjoy them!

Regards,
Eren FrondAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11739371180841119795noreply@blogger.com
